I was hoping to show my latest painting, completed.Instead, above is a glimpse of my work so far. It is encaustic with vintage glass buttons and crystals, and features Alice Paul. However, I am still not yet satisfied with the portrait, or the pose, and , yet again, I will be painting over my last week’s work until I get it right.
On the bright side, I am painting on a beautiful panel created by Rodney Thompson’s ,having prepared the surface with encaustic gesso. I also poured wax into hand-made molds to cast butterflies and blackberry bushes, so the green leaves in the above photo project out from the surface of the art. Above, see a glimpse of this new work…
